Grants and incentives available in the UK
The UK Government continues to subsidise and incentivise EV adoption. The government’s Office of Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) offers grants to support the wider use of electric and hybrid vehicles.
These grants cover:
Electric Vehicles
The grant covers 35% of the purchase price, up to a maximum of £1,500 for cars, and £500 for motorcycles. This will be given to the Dealer or Manufacturer and passed on to the Buyer as a discount. The Buyer does not need to do anything additional to avail the grant.
It is important to note that not all vehicles are eligible, so we encourage you to check first as this could help you decide which EV to purchase. The recommended retail price cannot be higher than £32,000 for cars and £10,000 for motorcycles (inclusive of VAT and delivery fees).
Cars
Electric vehicles have zero tailpipe CO2 emissions and eligibility requirements are that cars can travel at least 112km (70 miles) without charging.
